"JUNE BUG" By The Brainerd Pinetree Patchworkers Members of the Brainerd Quilt Guild made this Queen-sized quilt for their biennial quilt show. The quilt is made entirely of Cherrywood Fabric. Karla Overland designed a colorwash effect with one simple paper-pieced block and an 8-step gradation of color. (It is actually the very first run of our new bundleg Tuscany.) Blocks and coordinating fabric were handed out to over 40 members of the Pinetree Patchworkers who happily sewed the blocks without seeing the final design. They were surprised two months later when the quilt was finished and beautifully quilted by Laurie Carlson. The die-cut circles represent June bugs buzzing around the garden and around the screen doors -- a familiar scene in Minnesota in June. HOW CAN I WIN THIS QUILT?
