Originally designed by Annie Smith for a group of students who wanted to expand on her methods, this design has been featured in the Keepsake Quilting catalog, was selected for Elly Sienkiewicz’s Baltimore Album Revival II exhibit at Quilt Festival in Houston in 2010, and then traveled the world as a part of the exhibit for two years. Even more impressive — every one of Annie's students who has entered the West of Baltimore Quilt into competition has won a blue ribbon and/or Best of Show!

The West of Baltimore Quilt is offered as a unique Block of the Month, created with the softly sueded colors of Cherrywood. The work is spread over 13 months: one 17" block each month for 12 months, then in month 13, the border insets and instructions for assembly are provided. Annie's raw-edge fusible machine appliqué technique makes it approachable even to relative beginners. While the pattern uses Annie's method, any appliqué technique can be used.
Each month's kit includes:
Full size templates for the floral motif
Generous cuts of fabric to create your block
Information about the history of the motif, tips and tricks from the designer
Access to a special BOM group for discussions amongst members and with the designer
Month 1 ships January 25, 2026 and on the 25th of each month following until the completion of the program.
A deposit of $125.00 + tax & shipping secures your first month and includes all the background fabric.
The monthly fee of $35.00 + tax and shipping will be billed monthly on the 15th beginning February 2026 until the completion of the program.
