Shipping policy

• Customers may choose their shipping option at checkout. We will ship according to the method chosen -  USPS, DHL (internatinal) or UPS.

• Shopify automatically uses DHL for International orders. However, due to the way international shipping regulations affect our location, you package may ship via a different carrier or service than selected at checkout. We will select the best combination of expedience and price. We thank you for your understanding.

• Customers will receive a tracking number via e-mail when the postage is generated. This does not guarantee the package has entered the tracking system immediately. Sometimes carriers contract with other carriers for delivery to final destination, in which case the tracking information may not be accurate.

• Please use the number provided in your shipping confirmation to track your package online with the chosen carrier.

• Cherrywood cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage after a package has been picked up by the carrier and left our facility. In case of mis-delivered, lost, stolen, or damaged packages, the customer must file a claim through the carrier. Items damaged or lost in shipping are the responsibility of the carrier (UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL).

International Shipping Policy

We are thrilled to serve our customers in Canada and around the globe! Please review our international shipping guidelines below before placing your order.

Duties, Taxes, and Brokerage Fees (DAP / DDU)

All international orders are shipped DAP (Delivered at Place), formerly known as DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid).

This means that the shipping cost you pay at checkout only covers the transportation of the package. It does not include any local customs duties, provincial/federal sales taxes (such as Canadian GST/HST), or carrier processing fees.

--- Who Pays? The receiver (the customer) is legally responsible for paying all import duties, local taxes, and carrier fees required by local customs authorities to release the package.

--- Carrier Brokerage Fees: Private couriers (like UPS, FedEx, or DHL) charge an independent "brokerage" or handling fee to clear packages through customs on your behalf. These fees are set by the courier, not by us, and must be paid before or upon delivery.

What to Expect at the Canadian Border (For Canada Orders)

Under current trade regulations (CUSMA), the thresholds for shipments entering Canada via commercial courier are generally as follows:

       - Under CAD $40: Typically exempt from duties and provincial sales taxes.

        - Between CAD $40 and CAD $150: Exempt from customs duties, but subject to standard provincial/federal sales tax (GST/HST/PST). Courier brokerage fees will apply.

        - Over CAD $150: Subject to both applicable customs duties and provincial sales taxes, alongside courier brokerage fees.

Please note: The Country of Origin (where the product was manufactured) dictates duty rates. Goods made in the USA often enter Canada duty-free, but provincial sales taxes and courier brokerage fees will still apply if the package value exceeds CAD $40.

Refused Shipments

If you refuse an international shipment due to unexpected customs fees or courier brokerage charges, the carrier will either abandon the package or return it to us.

   - Any return shipping costs, storage fees, or duties billed back to us by the carrier will be deducted from your final product refund.

-Original shipping fees are non-refundable on refused international packages.

Right to Self-Clear (Canada Only)

Canadian residents have the legal right to "self-clear" their packages through a local Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) inland office to avoid paying private courier brokerage fees. If you wish to self-clear, please contact the courier immediately upon receiving your tracking number to request the necessary manifest documentation before the package reaches your local delivery hub.
