Storytime Challenge Submissions are now open.

DEADLINE: BEFORE FEBRUARY 15, 2026 @ 1:00 Central Time

You will need the following to submit your quilt:

• Biographical information

• Quilt Title

• Artist Statement

• • Limited to 150 words. Briefly tell us about your inspiration and interesting design elements of your piece. Write in first person. Technique information will not be published in book due to space constraints. We reserve the right to edit Artist Statements for publication in the Challenge book. 

• Three Photos 

• • File format: JPG, PNG
  • File size limit: 5MB each

• • ONE image that shows the entire quilt with two rulers laid at right angles along the edges of the quilt to prove the dimensions are 20"x20". Crop so only the quilt and rulers are visible. Do not cover any part of the quilt with the rulers.

• • TWO close-up photos of detail to show workmanship, small details, stitching, etc. Each image should show a different area of the quilt.

  • Images should be WELL-LIT, FOCUSED and CROPPED.

Use these guidelines in taking your photos:

STEP 1

Complete the Storytime Challenge Submission Form.

STEP 2

The submission fee of $30 is collected as part of completing the form. You may opt to have a copy of your submission responses emailed to you, or you can download a PDF of your responses from the final page of the form. 

STEP 3

Wait for email notification after the jurying process is concluded (mid-June). Finalists and non-finalists will be notified. DO NOT SHIP your quilt to us unless you are instructed to in the notification. 

STEP 4

If selected as a Finalist, you will receive further instruction for mailing the quilt.

 

By entering The Cherrywood Challenge, you agree to the following:

• Quilts will be photographed for use by Cherrywood in marketing and a published book.

• Quilts will be in Cherrywood’s possession until at least June 2027. Cherrywood reserves the right to hold longer if needed for more bookings.

• You are responsible for insurance while your entry is in transit to Cherrywood. Quilts will be insured by Cherrywood up to $200 while in their care, custody and control. When displayed at shows, quilts are insured by the organizer or venue.

• Cherrywood reserves the right to disqualify any entry for any reason.

• Cherrywood does not provide written or verbal critique.

REMEMBER: If you NOT selected, you get to keep your lovely quilt and are free to submit and enter it in any show.

Once you have paid your submission fee and see the confirmation page, your submission is complete and we have received it. You will have the opportunity to print or download your submission information upon completion of the form. Please save for your records.
